Daily dose of happiness

In Mumbai, right from the morning paper, we begin to rant. And I’ve noticed that lately, I’ve been cribbing a bit too much. About the traffic, about the rickshawwala, about the lack of discipline, about the bai, about the dhobi, about the fan that makes creaking sounds, about the relative whose wedding is bang in the middle of the week – so much ranting that I’ve become sick of the voices in my head. I’m a great believer of the law of attraction. And if I want to be happy, I need a shift in the way the voices in my head talk.

In traffic there’s always a kid who waves out to me, there’s always that rickshawwala that is extra nice to me, for every guy who cuts into my lane, there’s someone who gives me right of way, even though my bai doesn’t show up one odd day in a week, she makes the rest of the week easy for me…

There’s always that silver lining that we somehow ignore. And with my thank you notes, I tried to see it for a while. And now, people on my social media timelines are uploading pictures of one thing that makes them happy every single day. Maybe I’ll give 100 days of happiness a shot. A little effort to realign my positive energy. Pictures, quotes or even things that I’ve written myself. Join me in finding happiness for 100 days?
